Fri Feb 26, 2010 7:15 am ARCHOS Kb button used for Win7 OSKeyboar and more[Upgraded]
Hey guys, I prefer the Win7 sexy OnScreenKeyBoard rather than the Archos' one. I have just finished making a tiny application to help the A9 Keyboard button to turn on/off the Win7 On Screen Keyboard. Work perfect for me. You may like it. The A9 Keyboard can perform these functions according to number of times you push the keyboard button. 1 time: Turn On/Off Win 7 keyboard 2 times: Rotate screen left 3 times (or more): Restore screen to normal http://www.4shared.com/file/240964276/fcd252cf/OSK.html [3 functions version] notes: after download, change the extension to *.exe and run it. If you like, put a shortcut in the "start up" folder. 100% pure app. Enjoy.

Thanks! However your radipshare upload can no longer be downloaded. There was a 10 download limit. Anyone else care to host the file?

Hi hallua,
Can you please share you source code or tell us how you made this? I just don't like running exe files on my computer unless I can verify that there are no rootkits, viruses and or trojans etc... in it. Anti viruses and rootkits analysers only remove the ones that they know about, the popular ones.
I'm sure your code is solid, I just would feel much more safer when I do my internet banking etc on my Archos 9 :D
To be honest, what an awesome job you did hallua and I am most grateful that you took the time to work this problem out for our community.
Maggie
P.S. You can use sourceforge to share your work with the world :D

So do I, but do you know that some viruses, trojans and or rootkits, worms etc... (that you could be unaware of) on your machine automatically infect other new files??? Anyway, your choice, I am sure hallua has no problems in putting his sources on sorceforge so we can compile the app ourselves. :D Thanks Maggie

So I decompiled the exe file and realized that this application utilizes the scripting macro feature of AutoHotKey, an open source application which can be found at http://www.autohotkey.com/. This is useful because I am sure maybe we would like to have the same keyboard raise a different event, maybe to rotate the screen :D Maggie

Hey guys, As maggie said, the application was made by autohotkey. Here is just FYI:
#NoTrayIcon !Scrolllock:: { ifwinexist ahk_class IPTip_Main_Window { PostMessage,0x112,0xF060,,,ahk_class IPTip_Main_Window return } else { run, C:\Program Files\Common Files\microsoft shared\ink\TabTip.exe return } }
Besides, to rotate the screen using the keyboard, u can just press CTRL + ALT + ARROWs. I don't think any app is needed. If you wanna change the Key Combination, go to the Intel Graphic setting. That's it. Regards,

thanks for your script, i think it would be benificial for anyone who wants to play with these types of scripts to use a good editor like the one that autohotkey recommends http://www.autohotkey.net/%7Efincs/SciTE4AutoHotkey_2/web/but you could just use the built in GUI of autohotkey to do most of the heavy lifting and scripting for you anyway. i disagree with the rotation not being needed, for me while reading a wb page or ebook, it is nice to be able to rotate the screen without the need to bring up the keyboard. also, maybe we can use autohotkey to map the keyboard button to mute and unmute the sound? just another idea :-) I was thinking of developing a .NET windows service to raise an event when the keyboard button was pressed, it would have been really lightweight and configurable with a front end, oh well, no need to reinvent the wheel... ;-) Maggie

hey maggie, It's good to have a good software engineer like you in this forum. I think A9 fans will benefit a lot from you. I am totally not a software guy. lol Here is the homework: lol It's would be best if you can make an application with GUI so people can change key's settings themselves. Also, I suggest you to make a firefox grab&drag alike application for windows 7. If I was software engineer I would have made this application. BTW, I can't believe any editors can make differences, so does the one you suggested. The only one can make difference in the output is the COMPILER, i believe. Nice weekend.^^

Guys. As suggested by Maggie, I did some more jobs to upgrade the application. The A9 Keyboard can perform these functions according to number of times you push the button. 1 time: Turn On/Off Win 7 keyboard 2 times: Rotate screen left 3 times (or more): Restore screen to normal *.exe file (download and rename) http://www.yousendit.com/download/RmNDQ ... SlEwTVE9PQsource: #NoTrayIcon !Scrolllock:: if Key_presses > 0 ; { Key_presses += 1 return } key_presses = 1 SetTimer, KeyboardKey, 400 ; return KeyboardKey: SetTimer, KeyboardKey, off if Key_presses = 1 ; The key was pressed once. { ifwinexist ahk_class IPTip_Main_Window { PostMessage,0x112,0xF060,,,ahk_class IPTip_Main_Window } else { run, C:\Program Files\Common Files\microsoft shared\ink\TabTip.exe } } else if Key_presses = 2 ; The key was pressed twice. { send ^!{Left} } else if Key_presses > 2 { send ^!{Up} } Key_presses = 0 return
