Long answer: I'm still trying to complete my purchase at archos.com. They want additional 'proof' before sending it off. Really annoying. never had such trouble before.

I am curious as to how long the delivery on this item will be (globally).
So please don't be shy, state your region (country), order date and receipt date.

I noticed on the order page it say "All orders require 72 hours for processing before shipping"
is it just me or does that seem like a really long time just to process an order? :?

I'm really debating on whether I'm going to buy this thing or not, this is my first
time dealing with Archos, and so far I'm not really impressed.

No, I ordered it 22.10 and got the same message as other - 72hours verification.

Too bad it comes with that crippled version of win7 and without the expansion dongle. Upgrading win7 and buying the dongle will make the price crazy :roll:

I've been 'cleared' by Archos, unfortunately the order has not shipped yet. That will be Monday at the earliest.

I was told the Archos 9 has been delayed until November.

I'm not surprised...

I really hope you're wrong, they already have my money :evil: ....

And will earn a little interest from it before it get shipped in late November :badgrin:

On the Archos website, when you order the Archos 9, (thru Belgian site) they now announce the next delivery date to be in the beginning of November.

I guess they moved the release date back to november and didn't tell anyone? haha this means something was definitely wrong with the first batch

I hope that's not the case. If true it would be nice if they informed their customers about the delayed shipment. If they do not ship my order tomorrow I will ask them what the shipment date will be. Fingers crossed that I will find a 'shipment notification' in my mailbox tomorrow evening...(one can only hope)...

no it's not sold out. No one has them to sell. Talked to Scott and he is getting his shipment first week of november. That's what archos told him.

1st week November, great I ordered mine on Monday :D

got this email this morning so it should be here by wednesday at the latest.

I had an e-mail today (sent a request for an update on my order) saying they currently dont have the supply to meet the demand and as soon as they are ready to send out they are doing. There is only so many they can send out every day. Thats what they told me anyway. I guess the devices are made in China (or wherever) and then shipped to France. At which point they put the s/w on the device and test it. Then it gets boxed up for retail and sent out... so its that second part of the process that seems to be slowing things down a bit. Looking at others I expect I will get mine towards the end of next week - not had a shipping confirmation yet..

So I was correct when I said the probably sold out the first shipment! as when I went to the Archos site on release date, it said nothing about shipping in November, as they must of had stock!
