Tether to a5a via USB cable?

I know that there is a way to tether via bluetooth (assuming your phone can connect) but is there a way to tether to the a5a physically?

I only ask because I've heard that tethering via a USB cable can be significantly faster than bluetooth and there might be a time when I'd want/need a faster speed.

This requires root privilege, which is currently not available.
