Does anyone know a method for resuming where you left off in a video file. My A5IT only seems to restart the video from the beginning

If you press home while watching a movie it should resume from that part the next time you go to it. It will also show up by your favourites when you click on movies (above internal, network, etc.)

But only one video can be bookmarked, and that video must be the one you watch next. If you ever watch another video, memories about the bookmarked video will be gone.

If I am right, a "bookmark" function would still be nice to have. Or maybe it already has it?

yes, as you are watching a vid, press menu and there will be a bookmark option. I don't know how many you can bookmark at once, but i have done 2 at once, plus the normal resume

I see no bookmark options in "Menu" - nor can I see anyway to set a video bookmark. Using newest firmware. Is it possible that it is filetype dependent? I'm playing MOV files.

When I press "Menu" I get "Info", "Format", "Speed", "Set" and "Settings" - that's all. And there's no Bookmark option in any of those - how did you get a bookmark?

Press set, you will see the option.

Sorry but all I get under "Menu-Set" is the choice of "Wallpaper" or "Thumbnail"

Any other possible clue (was also the same behavior under previous firmware).

Hmm. Let's see: play a video, pause the video, and press menu, you will see a "set" option. Press "set", you will be able to bookmark the video at that very position. I just did this to two videos a minute ago.

it wont set a bookmark if your playing a file from sd card, it will if your playing one on the internal memory though. hopefully this will be fixed soon as you cannot put a bookmark in for music either on sd card.

Another question, how do you get back to bookmarks in music as well as movies sections, where are they stored?

Thanks to all of you who responded - yes, roylovelock's answer worked perfectly - the media file (in my case video) must be on internal storage for you to be able to set a bookmark.

That's why I love this forum - there's always someone willing to assist.

np mate thats what we are here for.
The bookmark feature atm is a pain in the backside for me, i was able to bookmark any file on my old 605 + 405 on sd cards, i hope archos are looking into this as sd card is my favored storage especially as i like to carry as many audiobooks around that will fit on the player.

on the same note, if your viewing / listening to a file that you may need to stop - but want to come back to at a latter time, you can copy that file over to the internal memory, but you need to copy it not move as it wont allow you to move at the mo.
you can do this using file manager then you can delete the original off the card if you wish. this will give you the bookmark feature back on that file.
Ive now got into a habit of putting stuff on my sd cards then when i need them copying them over to the internal memory, bit of a pig workaround but it does the job atm.
