Just got my new 500gb Archos today. Pretty excited about how easy it was to update the firmware. Here's my problem though:
When I plug the Archos into my computer using the supplied cable and select mount, windows comes up with the whole "discovered new hardware" thingy, but can't install my Archos. Says "the required section was not found in the INF". What gives? Am I SOL?

FYI: I'm running Windows XP 64, SP 2 with Media Player 11 installed.

just questioning ....
when you plug it into your pc, normally the A5IT asks you if you want to provide your data to your PC
you have to select yes ...
if it doesnt pops up try sliding the upper screen down, normally there should be the usb sign you can push so it will ask you

Hi kiyu727, thanks for the response. I never got that prompt from the Archos. It just asks whether or not I would like to mount it to my PC when I plug the cable into both.

I have a workaround for now, found a copy of Vista at the bottom of my cereal box this morning while I was having breakfast. Got a dual boot going on right now with Vista solely there to transfer data.

I would like to get it up and running on XP though.
