Looks like the preview thumbnail for the System wallpapers are 120x80px. Maybe I just batch resize some of these wallpapers to that size and then we have to put both version in the folder? Ohh also maybe the thumbnail sized jpgs also need to be name etc.etc._small.jpg as well. I will do some rummaging about and get back on this.

Yep that worked! Awesome I did not think that was all that it would take. But yeah here's the low down::

Of course take a wallpaper such as the ones I am posting.
Create a scaled copy of it @ 120x80px.
Name the scaled copy with same name, but place "_small" (without quotes of course) at the end.
Place both versions in the :/storage/System/Wallpapers folder.
On home screen press Menu Options button, select Wallpaper, Wallpaper Gallery, and see your new walls!!

Anyways, I will include both versions of the jpgs I have been posting in my Wallpaper Packs... so yes I will re-up Wallpaper pack #1. Give me some time though, its currently 12:25am where I am at, and I need rest :roll: :)

I really do recommend Andexplorer in order to get these over to that :storage/System/Wallpapers folder.

Wow this is awesome to be able to flick through the previews, although File Explorer was able to do it this is in a much better fashion! Happy modding!

Although I included a .txt file in the Wallpaper Pack .rar file, I thought maybe I should post the instructions here as well. Here goes:


Here's how to get your new found wallpapers to show up in the regular "Change Wallpaper" selection gallery.

1.) I strongly recommend installing Andexplorer.apk for this process of moving files around in the Android system.
2.) Mount your Archos 5 Android on your PC (using MTP mount setting, found in the Device USB Connection menu).
3.) Create a folder within the newly mounted "Internal Drive" folder.
4.) Copy all the images to this newly created folder on the device.
5.) Unmount your device from your PC.
6.) Open Andexplorer.
7.) From the main screen navigate to :/storage/"your newly created folder"
8.) Once here, press the main "Options" button at the top right corner of the Archos' taskbar.
9.) Select "More" at the pop-up menu and choose "Select All".
10.) Press the main "Options" button once again and this time select "Copy/Paste". Then choose "Cut". Select "Yes"
11.) Navigate to :/storage/System/Wallpapers
12.) Once here press the main "Options" button and choose "Copy/Paste". Then choose "Paste".
13.) Exit Andexplorer.
14.) Press main "Options" button and choose "Wallpaper". Then choose "Wallpaper Gallery"
15.) Enjoy deciding which wallpaper you want to use.


P.S. You must remember, if wanting to use images of your own creation, to include a copy of the wallpaper which is sized 120x80px and has a filename with "_small" at the end of it (without quotes of course).
