Hi Guys

I am hoping that you could give me some advice on the best DVD Fab (8.0.8.7) conversions settings that will allow me to rip Blu-Ray DVDs and play them in HD on my Archos 7. I have all the necessary plugins.

Many thanks in advance.

Colin

You can use:
-mp4 or mkv container
-H.264 (Main Profile@L3.0) with a maximum res of 720x576. *note don't use weighted p-frames
-AAC-LC stereo audio (128kbps-160kbps gives good quality for stereo)

Use CRF if possible, something around RF=18 (+/- 1) usually gives very good results.

Try using Handbrake to do the encoding after using DVDFab to rip the Bluray. Using Handbrake, the 'normal' preset gives you Main Profile H.264, just remember to turn off weighted p-frames.

Thanks for the reply V_C... I'll give it a try and hopefully get some HD Movies on my Archos.
