Version 1.3.05 - January 12th, 2009
Bug fixes:

System: Sometimes the clock was wrong after a Suspend or a USB connection

Audio: AC3 5.1 audio didn't always work with SPDIF output (it was stereo only)

Settings Wizard: It was not possible to select a month other than 10, 11 or 12

Music: The display of the "Hard Drive" view is now faster when there are a lot of files or folders

System: ARClibrary is not systematically rebuilt after firmware update anymore

Downloading now, thanks!

Dang! have it downloaded but can't install it because it won't let you install without power/usb cable, which I don't have with me. Anyone know a way to force it to update without a USB or Power cable being plugged in?

No, that is there for a reason, if the device were to run out of power while updating the firmware it would be very bad.

Well, taking into account that we have had the Christmas / New Year break, this is not a very promising update. Where are the ARCLib fixes? Surely this must be their number 1 priority?

I'm quite aware of why it is there and the consequences of running out of power. I am also fully aware that I have a fully charged device that could easily handle the update with power to spare.

What Archos should change it to, is to force the USB/power cable, when the battery is less than 50% or something, then you could get away without it if the device is fully, or almost charged.

That would be fine, if the battery meter worked properly.

And if there was an exploit to get around plugging it in, then people would invariably use it to update their devices on low power because they thought it looked like it had enough, or they couldnt find the cable

Looks like that's cleared up the 12 pages of bug fixes posted for version 1.3.02 then

Is there a harm in not updating to this latest firmware? My 5 has been working great i'm almost scared to jinx it.

If all they did were the 5 items in the release notes, I agree!

I never updated to 1.3.02, but as I almost entirely use hard drive mode think I'll go for this one.

Playlist problem still exists. Skips some songs in playlists. Maybe due to problem below.

Still doesn't see/recognize all songs. Play -> Music -> Title indicates 10291 songs/tracks. But in Play -> Music -> Hardrive only 4999 songs/tracks are recognized. :?:

Any work on these issues Jaffar?

When will there be a huge firmware update ? Guess Archos was busy with CES and the Holiday's slowed things down. But this is just a minor update, nothing special and few things worked out. When does the HD plugin comes etcc......

Jaffar ? You still alive ? lol
