Check that out!! Just try it!

It should work on DVR Station, Battery Dock and Mini Dock.

I just tried with my Logitech MX1000 wireless mouse, that one works GREAT!!!

Didn't manage an unpowered (or broken) USB hub of mine to see if I can have both keyboard and mouse plugged in at the same time.

So far none of my keyboards work in the browser. So perhaps no keyboard suppot yet. Testing further with more keyboards and looking for other USB hubs now.

This is fantastic news once those work smoothly! Imagine using your Archos 5 on your HDTV using the HDMI output, this might actually start being able to replace your laptop! if it had ActionScript Flash support, faster tabs (perhaps using Google AJAX accelerating technology from Chrome), slightly faster AJAX, full 1280x720 HDMI output and rendering in the browser and Android apps support. Then I would say, this might actually replace my laptop.

The keyboard and mouse combo support might only be activated for now on the Archos 5G and not the Archos 5, please help me test this! This feature addition was not mentioned in the firmware update changelog..

Thanks to ArchosLounge.net for the news http://archoslounge.net/Un-clavier-et-u ... ,8599.html

Nice, that is the setup I was going to try.

Not that I ever use this anywhere where I would need a keyboard, but I can possibly see using my bluetooth dongle/mouse from my laptop if I go somewhere I expect to use it for web browsing a lot.

This is awesome. I am using the mouse on HDMI tv-output mode. The experience now is just about the same as using the DVI output on Intel dual-core Windows XP laptop. I mean, it is getting close to there.

This configuration is perfect for using with the DVR Station on a HDTV. This is absolute smooth browsing experience using a wireless keyboard and mouse on your sofa.. Or if you have a HDTV in your office as your computer monitor like me, this can take over your desktop or laptop.

I can't wait to show this setup off at conferences. This is perfect at school, just take out your foldable keyboard and pocket mouse connected to a little USB hub..

I can't get my keyboards and USB hubs to work yet though. Only my Logitech mx1000 wireless mouse works for now.

I think you may have convinced me to buy a dock! I wasn't planning to do so.

i have mine hooked up to a HD projector, and now being able to use a keyboard and mouse just adds so much more to online browsing compared to using the remote that comes with the DVR station! now i want some sort of IM software on there! (not a fan of the browser versions)

Totally cool. Just tried my Logitech 2.4 gHz wireless mouse and it works fine. Much easier to navigate with the mouse than the remote control. I will never have any use to use a keyboard since the computer is hooked up to the TV anyway, but using a mouse is SO cool.

One note: I noticed once the mouse is connected, you cannot use the remote control at all. Not that you'd need to though.

Second note: the scroll button on my mouse doesn't work, you have to use the scroll part of the screen for scrolling.

When a USB mouse is plugged into the mini-dock does the mini-dock require external power for the mouse to operate with the Archos 5?

If only the GPS cradle had a USB port on it. That would solve my problem in the car with navigating with my fingertips on the bumpy roads.

Can I just check this -- you found that your Archos works with a Bluetooth mouse? Does that mean there's some sort of Bluetooth support as well?

Oh Charbax, now that's funny - 'my Archos can use a mouse, now if only it had the other features that my laptop has, it could replace my laptop' =D>
Wow, they released some open source code a few years ago, now if only they opened up the unit, released up-to date and complete source code as per their legal obligations, and an SDK then I could use a mouse, keyboard, listen to OGGs, use a 3G dongle etc on my 605. That would be 'awesome'. :D

Sorry, rant over, back to work...
