i plugged in a belkin bluetooth dongle this morning and the archos said it didnt support this device. So i dont know if the logitech dongle that comes with the mx5000 is somehow different but that accepts the mouse and keyboard connection fine which it says is via bluetoothkb wrote:Can I just check this -- you found that your Archos works with a Bluetooth mouse? Thanks for the heads up. I connected a generic nonpowered USB hub with a built-in card reader. I connected my Logitech mouse and the Archos can see both the mouse and the CF card that I inserted.

I have a couple of USB wireless KB/Mouse combos, and one integrated USB wireless KB with a trackball on it, I will try these over the weekend!

At first I thought he was using a wireless keyboard but there's no apparent USB receiver device attached to the mini-dock so that doesn't appear to be the answer. A mystery.Analytical wrote:http://archoslounge.net/Un-clavier-et-u ... ,8599.html

The mouse is connected to a USB port in the keyboard, which is then connected to the dock.

Oh yeah I see that now. If you look at the picture in the video casually it's easy to conclude that the wire from the mouse merely passes under the keyboard rather than attaching to it. Thanks for clearing up the confusion.Swordfish wrote:The mouse is connected to a USB port in the keyboard, which is then connected to the dock.

I am really hoping to get the Rocketfish Bluetooth Keyboard Combo. (http://www.bestbuy.ca/catalog/proddetai ... atid=20391)
Can anyone confirm that it will work? Knowledge of other bluetooth keyboard/mice set ups would also be welcomed!
Thx.

Adesso WKB-4000US wireless keyboard w/trackpad:
Last night I hooked up Angel (my Archos 5/60GB) to one of my Adesso keyboards via the USB port on the DVR Station. Trackpad and keyboard worked flawlessly.
Note: While the Adesso was attached the DVR Station remote stopped functioning. No loss since the remote-only keys triggered facilities accessible via the Adesso trackpad.

I just noticed that when you are viewing pictures you can hold down the left mouse button and drag it to the next picture. And if you hold it down in one place you can zoom in too. I'm likin' it.
I'm tellin ya, if only the back button and scroll button worked that'd be perfect.

I also have the Adesso WKB-4000US. It's perfect for the Archos because it is small just like the Archos itself (the Adesso measures just over 11 inches wide).AllenPapapetrou wrote:Adesso WKB-4000US wireless keyboard w/trackpad:

Its funny, it took them 2 years to understand that the customers wanted mouse and keyboardsupport, i think I saw in the requset thread for the 604 that this would be nice to have. Its not until they got competition by the ASUS eee and other mini computers they finaly got their thumb out of their ass. And I dont really se the point in having an archos, when there is a computer with linux that is actually released under open source for about the same money. A bit OT but anyway.Xavi6 wrote:WoOoW!!that's really good improvement guys
but will someone tell mee if the logitech Dinovo mini will work with the A5 60G?

THANX IN ADVANCE
If you wait another 2 years and another 2 gen of archos, maybe you will have it, I think it was posted some time ago when the 604 was released.matt_2006 wrote:i have mine hooked up to a HD projector, and now being able to use a keyboard and mouse just adds so much more to online browsing compared to using the remote that comes with the DVR station! now i want some sort of IM software on there! has any one tried a usb hub, with a mouse and keboard attrached?
Re: USB keyboard and Mouse now supported with firmware 1.2.05!!
Has anyone tried one of those rubber, fold-up, or roll-up keyboards yet? if so, does it work. They would be perfect for travelling with.
All i'd need after that would be some type of office application then i'd be set.
thanks

I've had my hands on one -- didn't like it. The keys moved from side to side. Not steady at all.
Re: USB keyboard and Mouse now supported with firmware 1.2.05!!
Wouldn't it have been easier and just as flexible to provide Bluetooth support directly in the 5 so that a dock isn't needed and you could also use wireless headphones.

If you get the Adesso WKB-4000US with integral trackpad you won't need the wireless mouse, and you'll only use one device instead of two to wirelessly control the Archos.Rico wrote:Yes Wireless do work for those that are asking, thats preety much the first thing I did.

I got my second one from Amazon for $80 delivered. I first one I use with my Dell 530 attached to my 60" Sony HDTV. Nice lightweight solution - same size and layout as a laptop keyboard/trackpad.

Re: USB keyboard and Mouse now supported with firmware 1.2.05!!
The mouse communicates with the dongle via bluetooth and is then presented as a standard mouse rather than as a bluetooth device, as far as the Archos is concerned it's just a mouse.kb wrote:Can I just check this -- you found that your Archos works with a Bluetooth mouse? I uess all USB mice work, and for USB keyboards you need to make sure that your USB keyboard is USB2 and not USB1.
