Welcome to the world of technology. For as long as I can remember companies have used the consumer to iron out bugs in new hardware and software for that matter. If you don't want to run into these problems, we as consumers have to be smart, do our homework before the purchase and not be the first kid on the block with new devices.
I've been following the above advise for years ...., so much that people might consider me anal about researching something before purchasing it. If I feel I can deal with a products shortcomings, and only then do I make the purchase. I find the 604wf a good buy for the money despite its little bugaboos. Hopefully one day the users on this site can unite with people from elsewhere and organize some sort of large scale grievance to lobby Archos to not leave us behind on issues like the ones you outlined above.

I 1,000,000% agree with you. But how can we ARCHOS to listen to us?? They turn a deaf ear to all but the bottom line.

I thought we had a survey or the like (I filled it out) to do that very thing. Where did it go?

Again I said I like my 604wifi. Am I pissed off at the stuff that should have been out of the box? H3LL yes! Do I think after the 1st year run of the 605 604s should get some of the features of a 605 (Flash, DVR support) H3LL yes!

But little issues such as battery, clock, restarts and the like should be auto fixes and are not. I think this is why so much bad blood is found on this site.

Just my 2 pennies!
