Can anyone confirm the screen res of the 405? I thought it was going to be 480x272 but on the pixmania website, which is the only place selling it at the moment, it says it's only 320x240.
I sold my 404 to get both a flash device but also better res screen as the low res was my only complaint with the 404.

well i've just seen the 405 manual on the archos website and the screen is the same 320x240 res of the old model. Sucks.

On their german website, Archos states a screen resolution of "480x272" both on the 405 start page and in the online shop, but when you call the tech specs, it says 320x240.

Even Archos doesn't know

Those tech spec sheets are dodgy - the weight of the device is said to be 4.2 ounces but also 146g. 4.2 ounces is 120g so no idea what it does weigh. Guessing the lighter as the 605 4gb is only 150g.
I suppose the 320x240 res is the right one as 480x272 is a widescreen res??
I even rang archos up today to ask but the guy actually said he had no idea. Instills confidence.

At least he actually actually bothered to pick up the phone? A world first for Archos?

Whatever the true weight I just hope the quality control department is keeping it's eye on the ball for all these new Gen 5's since everyone in France heads for August holidays about now....
