Im happy with my 405 30gb, but the battery life isn't too brilliant. Im going on a trip in a few weeks and would like it to work for about 8 hours if poss. I've seen the battery extender packs, and these seem just the job. But even though the archos is a Gen 5 I notice on the archos webite it mentions using some Gen 4 accessories. Does anyone know what type of extender I should be looking at. ie Gen 4 or 5. Is there any way of telling by looking at the sockets?
Thanks

all gen 4 products work on the 05 range, but not the other way round.
why not get the battery dock which will give you 50% more run time (suppose to anyways) and get a powerpack like acons power runner, etc to charge / power the supply. there are also small little power pack that uses aa cells which will also do the job.
your right the 405 is really bad battery life, it hasnt got a scratch on the 605.

Thanks for the reply.
I was thinking of one of those that you put AA batteries in, as when I get on holiday I can charge the unit from the USB, and when i am at home there is no trouble as it goes on the DVR station. So really its only a short term problem a couple of times a year at most.
Thanks again for the info.
