Has anyone heard of any plans for Archos to come out with a car charger for the 605?

OR

Does the car charger for the 604 work one in the same with the 605? :?:

Well...while you patiently wait for a truly informed response, let me chime in: I'm planning on putting a power inverter in the car...the one I like has two AC outlets and a USB port (500mA). Assuming I get one of the docks, that will let me either charge by AC or USB while in the car.

OK, it's not a tiny unit:

PowerLine 200/400-Watt Slimline Inverter with USB Charging Port

Hopefully we'll get a better answer soon. ;)

Averageguy-

Just be careful if the inverter seems to be acting funny. My car was having weird electrical problems and I tried plugging my Gmini400 into an inverted and it fried the MP3 player and the charger... so if it seems funny, don't use it.

You can use any 12v to USB adaptor.

If Radio Shack doesn't have it, then i don't know who would! That store is great for that kind of stuff.

Seems kinda pricey for a car charger since I am really not interested about the FM feature. When the Archos remote comes out I will be using it just for that - to control the music (mp3's).

Not pricey if you're using both features, FM transmitter while charging.

Yeah I guess you're right...I just never saw the point, unlike many other peopl, to use the fm if you have a truckload of room to add/have any song on your player (like anything playing in the radio)....
