I got one of those refurbished for the price of US$139.00.
Not for me but for my little boy. :lol:
I get to play with it too.

It was rooted and ICS 4.04 installed in its first few hours.
I got this because of the developer community on XDA.

The devs have gotten hardware acceleration working quite well using Archos' .
Using the free BSPlayer it handles everything that I throw at it.
It uses the same OMAP 4430 as the non-Turbo Archos models.
So similar the hardware, the devs got the backlight working using Archos' backlight driver.

Even on development 3.0 kernel and firmware this thing is so stable.
About 2 weeks now and not a single reboot.

I use this ROM
gedeROM {True Fullscreen - 3.0 Kernel}

Kindle fire doesn't have a microSD card slot but soon that won't be an issue because the devs are also working on microUSB host support for storage, mouse, keyboard, bluetooth adapter, etc
Some persons have reported success with all of these except bluetooth.

-Charging light does not work properly yet.
-It only works with TWRP recovery and can only be properly shutdown from recovery.
-CWM recovery is being worked on.

Archos did not release a 7" tab with G9 specs so I cheated and have not regretted it! :badgrin:

The Kindle Fire is super nice and great. But OMAP4460 is better. And it's sad Kindle Fire comes with a crappy feature-locked Amazon home replacement, no HDMI output, no MicroSD/SD card slot, no kick-stand etc..
