I am planning to make a youtube account and I need recommendations for good cameras for youtube. Also, which video cameras do other people usualy use? My other question is I saw a sony video camera that you can use by hand, a big one. But I would also like one that can go into a video camera stand. But now that I thought, I needed a camera that you can record by hand, and also you can fit it into a video camera stand.

it depends on what quality flexibility you want from the camcorder, as well as price.

you can get cheap HD units (look like phones) without zoom or autofocus, but the overall results are poor.

Ideally get a camcorder with optical zoom and optical image stabiliser (not digital),
microphone socket (built in mic is always a compromise),
battery that goes on the back (not inside, as can get long life units)
uses SD cards - class 10 for speed (not hard drive, as no good if the camera is moving quickly)
all camcorders can (usually) be attached to a tripod wether big or small, very small may be the exception.

Sony units with the exmoor R sensor are very good and work really well in low light conditions.

hope this helps,
marcel

Sony camcorders are generally considered the best (with Canon in stiff competition). Which model you choose depends upon your budget
and your editing plans.
Sony Vegas Pro is an industry standard for video editing.

I suggest you do a web search for "camcorder buying guide" or "camcorder reviews". You should find a lot of comparison sites.

Personally, I avoid Sony products. I've never forgiven them for the rootkit they put on CD's a few years ago. I believe that unethical business practices should not be rewarded.

Kodak-Zi8
Canon-T3i Rebel / 600D

I think these two are the best camera for Youtube. You may use one of this and surely you're gonna get best experiences of using a video camera.
