hi,

it seems that the button turn on/turn off not working!!
i can't turn on the player so i charged it.
after the charging i can use it but i can't turn it off (i press the on/off button for few seconds but the player don't response).
after the player shut down automaticly i tried to turn on the player but the player don't response.
after i plugged the player to the computer the player turn on (and i can see that the battery is not empty).
what can i do to solve this problem?

If your unit is under warranty, you can RMA it.
If your warranty is expired, you could open the case and see if the solder is broken from the power button to the mainboard, and try to re-solder it (recommended only if you are confident you can solder that connection).

If none of the above options are viable, then you would be stuck turning on your unit by plugging it into the dock, or USB cable, and relying on your auto shut-off in your power management setting to turn the unit off automatically.

hi,
thank you for your fast reply.
i open it and you are right: the part in the mainboard that apply to the power button is out of it place.

i don't sure if it was glued or soldered.

do you know if the metal part that apply to the power button is glued or soldered ?
if it glued: what kind of glue should i use ?

That, Im not sure of.
If it is soldered, then you should see solder on the area where the pin attaches to the mainboard. My guess is that yes, it would be soldered but I don't have my 404 anymore to reference it.
whats it look like to you? Can you take a pic and upload it here?

good luck m8. ;)
