Hi All

Probably not the first time this has been seen but my Archos Gmini202XS has the dreaded 'can't read disk' type error. Despite serveral attempts, I cannot get my pc to recognise the device and so I can't run chkdsk or Scan Disk. Any ideas? Has anyone returned a Gmini202XS to Archos and got any results from them? To me, this is a case of the equipment being indurable so i would be looking for a refund, replacement or repair but somehow I don't imagine that Archos would want to see it that way.

Any ideas anyone?

Regards

This is a common error found in all of the HDD models across archos....

It happened to my Gmini 402 and to my AV500.... the solution was to disassembly the unit... and unplug the HDD from the mothercard... then try to turn it on.... the it will tell you the hard drive is not recognized so it need to format and then you plug it just before agreeing to format the device...

I dont know if the Gmini 202 has a format option but both of my Gmini 402 and AV500 does so this is the way to go...
