The reason for me wanting this is IN THIS THREAD!!

But since my beloved site gmini400.com has closed i know longer know a site that has walk through for changing the battery.

Iv taken the back off w/o snapping any clips but from my memory there are tiny things that connect the HDD to the circuit board so i dare not move it lol.

So could any1 tell me a good tutorial for changing batterys if this is the fault with my player?

Thanks alot

dapreview was my new home when gmini400.com closed but now iv found here it will be my second home lol

EDIT: iv took it apart n found the battery is soled to the circuit board... i expected it to be pluged in like the ipod mini battery now what LOL

hi mate, with the battery on the g400, just chop of the leads with a little to spare (about an inch from the mainboard), then connect your new battery to these leads, reason being is that the terminals are very close together and it only takes a little bit of current in the wrong place and the unit is completly dead. But connecting them to leads already present will solve this risky problem then just tape them up with insulating tape after.

Ahh good idea!!

i was not looking forward to having 2 solder!!

Will the player close with this excess wire?

or i gotta snip away at the new battery to compensate?

From my other thread post do you think its only the battery thts faulty?
